Experimentally studies the effect of outdoor infiltration cold air on the air temperature distribution near the ground in the impinging jet ventilation (IJV) and mixing ventilation (MV) heating rooms, respectively. The measured results indicate that the control capability of the warm supply air for the floor temperature in IJV heating room is stronger than that in MV heating room, and the air temperature near the ground in the former is much higher than that in the latter. The temperatures near the ground in both IJV and MV heating rooms are not affected by the frequency of outdoor infiltration cold air, and the influence range of the infiltration cold air decreases with decreased amount of outdoor air in IJV heating room, while the infiltration cold air distributes along the whole ground for any amount of outdoor cold air in MV heating room. By setting the appropriate supply air parameters, the influence degree and range of the infiltration cold air can be decreased and the indoor thermal stratification may be eliminated for IJV, but for MV there is no possibility to achieve these purposes.
